Proper Handmade Pies
Harvest Food was established twelve years
ago by Enid Hill, a proper cook making proper handmade food.
The business initially started
from home but can now be found in a large purpose built farmyard kitchen tucked away in the rolling North Bedfordshire
countryside.
All the products are made from scratch – no mixes, no additives or preservatives
– using only the best local produce.We allow ourselves 'luxuries' like commercial mixers and rolling pins,
otherwise we are completely handmade.
We will not compromise on this therefore when we say handmade we mean handmade,unlike
many of our competitors.
Enid always insisted that we cook all our own meat for the
pies, made all our own gravy and most importantly that this is all done by hand.
Some recipes started as those
used over a hundred years ago by her great-grandmother and not much has changed since.
